Job Title: Executive Director

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our team at Action Appointments. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to our key functions, ensuring the organization's sustainability and scaling its impact.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental justice and not-for-profit leadership, with a proven track record of managing organizations through change processes. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership and oversight to our key functions, including programmatic, financial, and operations.
  • Developing and implementing internal policies and strategic plans.
  • Managing and communicating with a board of trustees.
  • Fundraising and securing resources to support the organization's mission.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including partner communities, donors, and government officials.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate degree in law or a relevant social science discipline.
  • Expertise in environmental law and human rights law, with a focus on Africa.
  • At least 5 years of management experience, with a proven track record of leadership in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Experience in fundraising, with a track record of securing resources to support organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
