Job Summary:

Joubert & Associates is seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Director and Board Member to join their team and manage both Protea Home for the Elderly and Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Board of Directors: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular updates and insights to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and accountability in their management of both homes.
  • Managing the Protea Home for the Elderly: The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Protea Home, ensuring that all aspects of elderly care are met, and that the home is run efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing the Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre, ensuring that all aspects of elderly care are met, and that the centre is run efficiently and effectively.
  • Administrative Tasks: The candidate will be responsible for overseeing administrative tasks, including financial management, human resources, and maintenance.
  • Overseeing Maintenance Tasks: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that both homes are well-maintained, and that all necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Financial Tasks: The candidate will be responsible for managing the finances of both homes, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Managing Reportees: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of reportees, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate Tertiary Qualification: The ideal candidate will hold an appropriate tertiary qualification related to general management, personnel management, and financial management.
  • Relevant Experience: The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a similar position, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in management and leadership.
  • Management and Leadership Experience: The candidate will have experience in management and leadership, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and Experience: The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience regarding the law for elderly care and minimum norms and standards for elderly care.

  • Time Management and Planning Skills: The successful candidate will have good time management, planning, and organizing skills, ensuring that they can prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: The candidate will have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, ensuring that they can make informed decisions and solve complex problems.
  • Computer Literacy and Typing Skills: The successful candidate will have computer literacy and good typing skills, ensuring that they can use technology effectively in their role.
  • Ability to Work Independently: The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Driver's License and Own Transport: The successful candidate will have a driver's license and own transport, with a code 8 license.
  • Conflict Management Skills: The candidate will have conflict management skills, ensuring that they can resolve conflicts and disputes effectively.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking Abilities: The successful candidate will have strategic and analytical thinking abilities, ensuring that they can think critically and make informed decisions.
