We are excited to offer an opportunity to become part of a top-tier Global Construction Underwriting team in the North West. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Liability Underwriter to join a dynamic and well-respected insurer within the market.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders to amplify influence and attain business goals.
  2. Stay up-to-date with all advised Construction claims, offering input on settlements to inform future Underwriting strategies.
  3. Ensure compliance with contract certainty requirements for the production and issuance of documentation.
  4. Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with the business plan and personal authority, aiming to meet business objectives.
  5. Assist in coordinating Risk Engineering activities for the existing portfolio, reviewing Risk Survey reports and seeking additional information when necessary.
  6. Contribute to and influence the review and analysis of the portfolio, identifying progress toward business objectives.
  7. Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to mitigate risk.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in the construction sector of the insurance industry, ideally with a focus on industrial lines.
  • Effective communication skills, coupled with the ability to challenge and persuade others.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and utilizing data to make informed decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant market conditions pertaining to specific classes/portfolios.
  • Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Comprehension of class-specific underwriting principles and reinsurance practices.
