The Legends Agency is seeking a highly skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for a Forklift Mechanic who can diagnose, service, and maintain various lifting equipment, including electric, gas, propane, and diesel-powered machinery.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and emergency service calls at client locations, both indoors and outdoors, under varying environmental conditions.
  • A key aspect of this role is conducting cleaning, lubrication, battery maintenance, and repair of engines, lift mechanisms, and all system components.
  • The Forklift Mechanic will also be required to collaborate with warehouse staff and clients to accurately diagnose issues and develop effective service plans.
  • In addition, they will schedule and conduct preventive maintenance checks to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintaining thorough logs of all work performed, complete safety checklists, and submit necessary forms is essential.
  • The Forklift Mechanic may also be required to carry out equipment disassembly and reassembly as needed, and relocate equipment for convenience or major repairs.
  • Physical tasks, including heavy lifting and equipment movement, are also an integral part of this role.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe working environment that adheres to regulatory safety standards is a top priority.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in the use and maintenance of a variety of hand tools and machinery.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, ensuring satisfaction and service quality.
  • Responsible inventory management and utilization of manual and computer-based inventory systems.
  • Assisting in promoting company services and contributing to overall business success.
  • Maintaining a well-organized workshop and keeping supplies and tools in excellent condition.
  • Safely operating and maintaining the company vehicle.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to client sites.

Benefits and Salary:

The salary for this position is estimated to be between R23000.00 - R25000.00 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a company bakkie.
