Data Center Maintenance Technician

Future Africa Consulting (Pty)Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Monitoring and Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of data center infrastructure, including generators, UPS systems, HVAC systems, and DC plant.
  • Alarm Monitoring and Restoration: Respond to alarms and restore site services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission new data center plant, including generators, UPS systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintenance of Electrical Systems: Perform maintenance tasks on electrical systems, including generators, UPS systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Switch Room and Remote Hub Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks on switch rooms and remote hubs, including MV and LV equipment.
  • Plant Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Monitor heating and cooling systems to ensure optimal temperatures are maintained.
  • Client SLA and MSA Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with client SLA and MSA requirements.
  • Health and Safety Protocols: Adhere to health and safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in a safe and controlled environment.
  • Daily and Weekly Maintenance Reports: Provide daily and weekly maintenance reports to management.
Requirements:
  • Electrical Installations: Possess electrical installations qualifications and experience.
  • Night Shift Experience: Be able to work night shifts.
  • Data Center Maintenance Experience: Have at least 3 years of experience in data center maintenance.
  • Strong Self-Study Ability: Possess strong self-study ability and be able to learn new skills quickly.
  • Good Communication and Teamwork Skills: Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
