Assistant Retail Store Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager to join our team at Work Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee store operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day management and excellent customer service.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, focusing on staff training, development, and leadership.
  • Monitor revenue and profitability, making data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
  • Manage store safety, security, and shrinkage, maintaining a secure and healthy work environment.
  • Control GP's, listing, and price changes, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Coordinate weekly price/market surveys, staying up-to-date with market trends.
  • Ensure store merchandising meets quality standards, maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Manage stock control and stock counts, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Plan, promote, and execute marketing and competitions, driving sales and customer engagement.
  • Manage incident and complaints reporting, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely salary and wage information, maintaining employee satisfaction.
  • Manage staff rosters, ensuring adequate staffing levels and efficient scheduling.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Retail Management role, with FMCG industry experience advantageous.
  • Clear and stable working history, with no job hopping.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and planning and organizational skills.
