Job Title: Technical Sales Representative

Elchemie, a leading manufacturer of high-precision instruments for chemical analysis, is seeking a dynamic and goal-oriented external sales representative to join their team in Somerset-West, Western Cape.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for marketing and sales of analytical instruments in the Western/Northern Cape and parts of the Eastern Cape up to Gqeberha. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and at least 2 years of external sales experience in analytical instruments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively call on existing customers and develop new markets to generate revenue from sales of laboratory instruments and process analysers.
  • Travel throughout the territory with occasional trips to Head office/HQ for training.
  • Track and process sales leads gathered from trade shows, marketing campaigns, telephone inquiries, and prospective local companies.
  • Perform product demonstrations and attend trade-shows and exhibitions to promote our products.
  • Maintain customer data on the MS Dynamics CE system.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree/National Diploma in Chemistry.
  • Two years related sales experience in analytical instruments (non-negotiable).
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Dynamics 365.
  • A valid driver's license and own car.
  • Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
  • Good organizational/time management skills to balance customer visits, sales administration, and ad-hoc internal team tasks.
