Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Manager III to lead our operations and achieve client/customer objectives in areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operational efficiencies, achieving sales targets, and ensuring effective operational management.

Key Responsibilities:Achievement of Sales Targets:
  • Identify sales targets per channel per month and develop a quarterly project plan to achieve these targets.
  • Manage and track the implementation of the project plan, revising it as needed based on client feedback.
  • Liaise with buyers to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide feedback to clients and manage promotional activities.
  • Manage new innovations and minimize credit notes.
Effective Operational Management:
  • Ensure adherence to call cycles and effective time management when visiting stores.
  • Ensure stock availability and shelf health, including stock-on-shelf, PI labels, and removal of damaged and expired stock.
  • Adhere to specific Returns Management policies and implement promotional schedules.
  • Ensure a good working relationship between field staff and store management.
  • Update the Strike Action Plan biannually.
Effective People Management:
  • Take full responsibility for the performance management of direct reports, managing their performance in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives.
  • Recruit, induct, develop, and remunerate direct reports, as well as manage their performance and career path.
  • Manage Employment Equity targets and ensure appropriate levels of management and accountability.
  • Motivate, delegate, and empower direct reports to take responsibility and display creativity and initiative.
  • Ensure effective knowledge sharing and coaching and development of others.
Effective Budget and Financial Management:
  • Compile the annual budget using previous business unit financial performance information.
  • Submit the budget to the relevant manager for review and sign-off.
  • Analyze monthly departmental budgeting and accounting reports and identify and control variances.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure adherence to expense budgets and prepare budget reports.
  • Continually seek new ways to improve efficiencies and decrease expenditure.
  • Ensure compliance to relevant policies and procedures and proactively seek to identify and manage risk.
Effective Knowledge Sharing:
  • Be alert to competitor activity and potential tenders.
  • Compile Field Intelligence reports and submit them to the BU Manager.
  • Update clients on competitor activity and ensure effective communication of information to the Field Force.
Effective Client and Customer Relationship Management:
  • Proactively build relationships with clients and customers and ensure they are kept informed.
  • Ensure prompt problem solving and maintain a positive attitude.
Effective Administration and Asset Management:
  • Ensure accurate salary input and monitor and control expense claims.
  • Ensure scorecard compliance and effective management appraisals.
  • Ensure effective leave management and administration, conduct HR and Financial audits, and check and monitor assets.
  • Conduct disciplinary hearings as required and maintain office hygiene and equipment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree at NQF level 7.
  • 7-8 Years relevant experience in FMCG industry or sales environment.
  • 8 - 10 years' relevant experience in FMCG or sales environment.
  • Pharmaceutical experience advantageous.
  • Relevant Diploma or Degree at NQF level 7.
  • Required experience to include proficiency in Operations.
