Role Overview

RPO Recruitment's client, a leading building and civil contractor in Gauteng, is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and civil engineering practices, with a solid understanding of buildability, resourcing required, and programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract materials from BOQ/drawings and compile for the buying department to send out enquiries to the supply chain
  • Extract subcontract packages from BOQ/drawings and compile for tender buying to send out to the supply chain
  • Billing management, including compiling invoices and tracking payments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate pricing and submission of tenders
  • Maintain and improve processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy in estimating

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Building or BTech in Civil/Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or similar
  • Between 6 and 10 years' experience working as an Estimator in the construction industry
  • Familiar with standard conditions of contract for building and civil engineering works such as JBCC, FIDIC, NEC3, etc.
  • Aware of labour and plant production figures, average waste factors, etc.
