Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Representative to join our team at Empire Recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to grow their career in sales and technical roles.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing market share, offering product solutions that exceed competitor levels of service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, analyzing, and ranking existing and new customers based on business potential.
  • Developing short-term and medium-term call plans to effectively manage customers.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and executing assigned call plans.
  • Providing advice and support to customers on Company products and matching customer needs with engineered solutions.
  • Actively following up sales performance to ensure sales budgets are met.
  • Carrying out after-hour on-call duties as part of our 24-hour service program.
  • Attending marketing and sales functions as required.

Technical Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of power transmission formulae and be able to use them as a tool for selecting Company equipment. Other key technical responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of Company products, catalogues, and selection criteria.
  • Understanding applications and their impact on equipment selection.
  • Carrying out site meetings to evaluate applications and solve operating problems.
  • Performing necessary calculations for sizing, recommending, and selecting equipment.
  • Participating in on-call duties for after-hours backup and breakdowns.
  • Acquiring knowledge of SAP informatics systems to verify stock status and availability.

Administration Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing and submitting call plans and call reports.
  • Maintaining accurate customer data, including master file data, activity descriptions, and classifications.
  • Preparing quotations using Salesforce, ensuring technical and commercial terms are understood and met.
  • Confirming delivery status of equipment offered.
  • Processing sales orders onto the Company computer system.
  • Following up processed sales orders to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Assisting with internal sales functions as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in a trade counter or front counter sales position.
  • Proven ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Exceptional new business skills, excellent negotiation, selling, and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
