SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to enhance our human capital initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategizing and organizing both legislative and developmental training programs, collaborating with various stakeholders to identify and address training needs within the organization. This role includes the preparation and submission of essential legislative reports, such as the WSP and ATR. Having Assessor & Moderator accreditation with TETA is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective training programs in collaboration with business units to evaluate current and future employee development needs.
- Maintain comprehensive training documentation, including trainee lists, schedules, and attendance records.
- Coordinate training venues to ensure a professional and conducive learning environment.
- Prepare and distribute training materials, such as instructional notes and feedback forms.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendors and participants throughout the training process.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during training sessions.
- Compile and present reports on training activities and outcomes.
- Propose enhancements or new training initiatives as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with established policies by employees and vendors.
- Generate and submit required legislative training reports, including WSP and ATR.
- Organize and facilitate various training sessions, including legislative training, soft skills development, team-building exercises, and workshops.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new employees by conducting induction and orientation sessions.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
- Experience with MERSETA is a plus.
- Assessor & Moderator accreditation with TETA is advantageous.
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources, Training, or a related field.
- Experience in Organizational Development or project management is beneficial.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong planning and organizational capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of training-related legislation and frameworks.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the EE Act, SD Act, and OHSA.
- Proficiency in English, with additional languages such as Afrikaans and isiXhosa being an advantage.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
