Global IT Services Director: Strategic Business Alignment

About the Role

As a Global IT Services Director at BMW Group, you will be responsible for leading the development and operation of IT products and services throughout their entire life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the quality of IT products and services, including security, compliance, and budgeting in accordance with regulatory conditions.
  2. Sources and manages an international product pipeline to ensure timely delivery of IT services.
  3. Leverages DevOps principles to deliver high-quality IT products and services within the Shared Service Centre context.
  4. Develops and implements strategies to continually improve IT products and services.
  5. Ensures the availability and reliability of IT products and services.
  6. Influences business planning and aligns international locations with central business strategies.
  7. Leads a team of specialists to deliver State-of-the-Art DevOps and products.
  8. Standardizes and reuses developed systems and software to enhance efficiency.
  9. Manages DevOps resources and resource planning to deliver on agreed products and projects.
  10. Ensures Agile DevOps is implemented efficiently and effectively.
  11. Maintains Governance models for Agile DevOps in collaboration with Group IT.
  12. Ensures IT-Governance requirements are met, including IT-Security, IT-Compliance, IT-Risk, and IT-Architecture.
  13. Delivers support and assistance to international process partners in alignment with customer orientation.
  14. Accountable for 24x7 DevOps according to customer requirements.
  15. Operates in an international environment, spanning different time zones, and attends to escalations outside normal hours.

Personnel and Resource Management

  1. Mentors and coaches team members to achieve excellence.
  2. Allocates and balances resources to meet company and customer demands.
  3. Forecasts personnel and contractor resources required for short- and long-term objectives.
  4. Evaluates and approves additional or existing resources for prioritized requirements.
  5. Conducts associate career planning and development.
  6. Negotiates labour broking contracts with providers.

Compliance and Governance

  1. Ensures IT-Relevant Compliance requirements are met in local and international legislative frameworks.

Leadership Tasks

  1. Disciplinarily leads associates in line with agreed goals and targets.
  2. Delegates tasks to subordinate specialists and manages their delivery accordingly.
  3. Motivates associates to achieve above-average performance.
  4. Acts in a fair and unbiased manner to foster loyalty to the company and department based on BMW values.
  5. Takes corrective action where necessary, including disciplinary action.
  6. Conducts regular performance appraisals with subordinates.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical aid, pension fund, and life insurance, we provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
