Supply Chain Inventory Specialist needed for a leading automotive organization.

Objective

The primary aim is to ensure that all processes are adhered to and transactions are executed efficiently to maintain the accuracy of inventory for purchased components, raw materials, and finished goods within the ERP framework.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a tertiary qualification or technical diploma, with specialized training in supply chain management. A background of three to five years in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with MRP systems are essential.
  • Familiarity with QAD or MFG Pro systems is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills are required, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  • Understanding of material flow methodologies such as FIFO, KANBAN, FCA, and JIS.
  • Proficient in document control processes.
  • Capable of handling time-sensitive information and orders to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, procedural manuals, and create presentations as necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills are required for problem-solving and implementing long-term corrective measures.
  • Knowledge of QAD and ESB systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and oversee functional areas within the facility to ensure all inventory transactions are executed accurately and promptly, enhancing the overall precision of perpetual inventory systems. This includes production and scrap reporting, receipt entry, and timely back-flushing of raw materials.
  • Coordinate all cycle counts and lead the physical inventory process.
  • Identify potential root causes of inventory discrepancies and drive investigations with relevant departments, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Engage in BOM reviews for all manufactured items, collaborating with BOM and Systems Specialists to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Monitor and investigate negative inventory reports within QAD.
  • Lead initiatives to establish organized visual inventory systems on the production floor.
  • Assist in managing engineering and process changes, minimizing obsolete materials and non-declared inventory. Participate in launch events and meetings.
  • Propose system or process improvements to upper management.
  • Ensure compliance with all IOS, IATF, and internal plant procedures and processes.
  • Support and coordinate annual four-wall counts, managing all administrative tasks related to this process, including count sheets, identification, preparation of count packs, and overseeing counts during stock takes.
  • Collaborate with Material Planners to prioritize critical counts and ensure timely investigations and corrections when required.
