We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planning Specialist to join our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment. As a Material Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and procuring parts according to customer demands, updating and maintaining accurate stock on financial systems, and monitoring suppliers for over or under supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Procurement: Plan and procure parts according to customer demands, ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory management.
- Inventory Management: Update and maintain accurate stock on financial systems, including Baan, to ensure seamless inventory management.
- Supplier Management: Monitor suppliers for over or under supply, escalating any problems to ensure timely delivery and accurate inventory management.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Monitor and update supply chain tools to ensure sufficient stock levels, reducing lead times and improving overall supply chain efficiency.
- MRP and Release Management: Run, release, and evaluate suppliers according to their supply performance, ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory management.
- Compliance and Reporting: Comply with SARS rules and regulations for quarterly returns on all customers, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Engineering Change Management: Attend Engineering change meetings and ensure new parts are in-plant before the Engineering change date, ensuring seamless inventory management.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide weekly reporting as per customer requirements, analyzing customer releases vs supplier deliveries and planning accordingly.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: NQF 4 qualification / Matric, National Diploma or Degree in Logistics (advantageous).
- Experience: 3-5 years relevant experience in Material requirement planning in a first-tier automotive company supplying to most OEMs.
- Skills: Customs tariff headings and Incoterms, Bond store control and management, Rebate items, and SARS requirements for a Bond store.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to analyze customer releases vs supplier deliveries and plan accordingly, customer and CX release portal experience, excellent communication, strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making abilities, and excellent attention to detail.
