Demand Planning Strategist

As a Senior Demand Planner at Clicks Group Limited, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective demand and statistical forecasting for assigned categories. Your goal will be to drive profitability through increased sales, improved margins, and working capital productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. You will be accountable for forecast accuracy within the allocated categories.
  2. You will partner with Category Managers on the development of pre-season sales, markdown, margin, and inventory plans.
  3. You will analyze and propose top-line shifts in the assortment investment at the category level.
  4. You will monitor projections, inventory flow, and seasonal sell-off plans as well as validate monthly forecast for Open-to-Buy management.
  5. You will recognize and reconcile forecast exceptions to track and manage sales against forecast and validate forecast for OTB management.
  6. You will determine causal factors impacting forecasts and respond appropriately.
  7. You will ensure effective stakeholder management and engagement to determine trends, identify new products, evaluate risks, and determine inventory and replenishment requirements.
  8. You will generate and deliver accurate and timely management reports and maintain key metrics against goals to analyze forecast performance and ensure forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
  9. You will effectively analyze post-promotional and event data to determine opportunities and improve future forecasts.
  10. You will lead and prepare for consensus forecast meetings with key stakeholders to enhance key insights and decisions taken.
Requirements
  1. You should have deep analytical skills.
  2. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and drive consensus and collaboration across functional groups.
  3. You should have business math acumen and analysis to comprehend financial information and reporting to make business decisions.
  4. You should have proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  5. You should have complex problem-solving skills.
  6. You should have strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  7. You should have 5 years' experience in Demand Planning in a retail/FMCG environment.
  8. You should have distribution requirement planning and other supply chain processes such as production planning, scheduling, and transportation experience.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Math, Decision Science, Marketing, Business, or related area or equivalent experience is required.
