Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Trade Marketing Manager to join our team at Ad Talent.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for a skilled Trade Marketing Manager to work from Zambia who has previously worked within the African market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Marketing Approaches:
    • Plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns to increase brand visibility and equity.
    • Develop customer profiling and segmentation strategies to optimize channel strategies.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including management, brands/category, production, and accounts/finance teams.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, such as channel partners, activation agencies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Brand Performance and Market Analysis:
    • Monitor marketing trends and feedback to ensure brand meets expectations.
    • Analyze market potential and identify target segments to maximize ROI.
  • Trade Spend and A&P Budget Allocation:
    • Manage trade spend and allocate A&P budget across channels/customers.
  • Promotional Programs and Category Management:
    • Develop and execute trade/consumer promotions, including pricing, sales estimates, operations liaison, and POS development.
    • Collaborate with the marketing/category management team to commercialize brand plans.
  • Brand Registration and Standardization:
    • Monitor brand registrations (brand-wise/SKU-wise).
    • Develop and standardize trade promotions in top-end and retail.
  • Evaluation Matrix and Competitor Analysis:
    • Define evaluation matrix for marketing investments.
    • Track competition volumes and monitor competitor activities.
  • Proactive Approach and Problem-Solving:
    • Identify product category plans, including range and merchandise proposals.
    • Recommend and develop local market promotions to promote sales.
    • Provide feedback to management on new product launches or re-launch initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Degree qualification in Trade Marketing & Marketing Communications (or related field).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience in the FMCG domain, preferably in Africa.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong strategic and creative thinking skills.
    • Excellent management and leadership skills.
    • Ability to develop and manage complex relationships.
    • Experience in managing websites and measuring campaign impact.
    • Excellent project management and communication skills.
    • Proven track record of representing organizations at external events.
