Our team is seeking a skilled Portfolio Consulting Professional to support the sales organization in approaching and serving potential customers, advising on capabilities and options for effective integration of Siemens' offerings (Simatic WinCC, TIA Portal, S7 products). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial automation, SCADA systems, and PLC platforms, including Siemens technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales organization in approaching and serving potential customers, advising on capabilities and options for effective integration of Siemens' offerings.
  • Provide expert advice on product application, serving the sales organization and customers.
  • Analyze product portfolio of dedicated customers, understanding client goals and objectives.
  • Consult with customer stakeholders to integrate Siemens' products, providing strategic, commercial, and organizational recommendations.
  • Create technical and commercial concepts and offerings to support the sales process.
  • Plan and complete consulting assignments to industry partners on technical and commercial levels.
  • Take responsibility for new orders or consulting projects.
  • Support the sales organization in contract negotiations, providing information and analyses.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities, innovating the consulting portfolio.
  • Provide technical assistance to focus customers.
  • Develop and present PLC/SCADA solution proposals, including estimating, compiling bills of materials, system architecture diagrams, and RFP/RFQ responses.
  • Provide customers and account representatives with strategy and solution advice and support during Pre-Sales discussions on PLC/SCADA solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years' project experience in the Industrial Automation industry.
  • Computer/Electronic/Electrical engineering degree or diploma.
  • Technical involvement in recent PLC/SCADA projects is mandatory.
  • General understanding of IT networking and remote communication, including GPRS & 3G communication, modems, private APNs, VPNs, routers, LANs, WANs, VLANs, firewalls.
  • Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet, and MODBUS.
  • Previous experience working with JAVA, SCADA, and PLC platforms, including Siemens technology (advantageous).
  • Must have a basic understanding of industrial communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet, and MODBUS.
  • Understanding of horizontal and vertical OT/IT integration.
  • Solution-thinking individual with interest in developing into an Automation consultant with a focus on SCADA systems.
  • Willing to travel in and outside the borders of South Africa.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
