About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Editor and contribute to the success of our online health journal. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation and publication of high-quality content. Your primary focus will be on managing peer review processes to ensure that we publish innovative and impactful research papers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage peer review of high-quality research papers and commissioning authors to ensure successful production of new and engaging articles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regional health professionals to attract high-quality research for the journal.
  • Attend conferences and events to represent the journal and stay up-to-date with current developments in regional health.
  • Write editorials and other content for the journal as required.
  • Help develop new initiatives for future development of the journal.

Requirements

  • A medical degree in a relevant discipline or a PhD in a related subject field with postdoctoral research experience.
  • Extensive editorial experience, at Editor or senior level, with a good understanding of all aspects of the editorial process and journal production.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently to demanding deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of the English language and ability to write engaging and interesting content.
  • Proficient with IT systems including MS Office.
