About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Editor to join our launch team for The Lancet Regional Health - Africa. As an in-house Senior Editor, you will work closely with our regional health community to attract high-quality research and manage the peer review process.

The successful candidate will have a Medical Degree or PhD in a related subject field, along with extensive editorial experience at Editor or senior level. They will also possess excellent organisational skills, ability to engage with external stakeholders, and proficient IT skills.

Responsibilities
  • Managing peer review of high-quality research papers and commissioning authors.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with the regional health community.
  • Attending conferences and events to represent the journal and identify potential topics of interest.
  • Writing editorials and other content for the journal as required.
  • Helping develop new initiatives for future development of the journal.
