Job Title: Corporate Secretary

The Corporate Secretary plays a crucial role in supporting the Board Committees, Management Committees, and Subsidiary Companies. This position requires a high level of expertise in corporate governance, law, and compliance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Board Committees and Management Committees.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the IDC's and subsidiaries' statutory books and records.
  • Provide guidance to committee members on their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that services provided to clients meet quality standards.
  • Conduct research and prepare management reports.
  • Formulate committee agendas in conjunction with the Group Company Secretary and Committee chairperson.
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of Corporate Secretary experience.
  • Qualifications: CIS, B Com (Law), BA (Law), or LLB.
  • Post-graduate degree (LLM/MBA/MBL) is an added advantage.
  • Corporate Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGISA) certification.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to liaise and engage with both internal and external clients.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive under work pressure.
  • MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Presentation Skills.
Competency Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong professional judgment in managing situations and/or confidential information. They will be proactive and forward-thinking, with excellent critical thinking and analysis skills. The candidate will also have a sound knowledge grasp of Company Secretarial practice and the administrative requirements imposed by corporate legislation.
