Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, as well as external funders and medical aids.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to funders and other stakeholders.
  • Provide necessary information to medical aids and assist with authorisation procedures.
  • Code all patients accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Assist with the final authorisation of patient files and control costs associated with patient care.
  • Consult with service suppliers regarding treatment options and communicate with patients via phone calls.
  • Coordinate case management activities for medical aid patients and facilitate daily liaison and communication with medical schemes, nursing staff, and other medical personnel.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working clinically is essential for this position.
  • The successful candidate must have knowledge of ICD 10 coding and medical aid tariffs, as well as authorisation processes.
  • EN registration with SA is required.
  • A thorough understanding of high-cost medication authorisation procedures is necessary.
  • No less than 3 years of experience in hospital or medical facility case management.
