We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the New Business Director, based in Johannesburg. As part of our Management Team, you will be responsible for driving Ogilvy Johannesburg's net new business plan, aligned with the Group's ambition.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team, shaping the future of our agency. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing the New Business and Growth Strategy, ensuring alignment with the Groupwide Business Strategy and annual budget.

  1. You will partner with the Management Team to define and execute the strategy, leveraging your experience and expertise to drive success.
  2. Facilitate and manage Ogilvy Johannesburg's pitch processes, from RFI to pitching, through effective planning, project management, communication, and collaboration with relevant specialist and business leads.
  3. Bring the best of Ogilvy and partners to all pitches, facilitating effective pitch casting and leveraging other enablement functions to ensure competitiveness.
  4. Build strong relationships with External Partners to aid new business and growth objectives, exploring opportunities for partnership and client solutions.
  5. Drive agency growth by proactively creating net-new business opportunities, partnerships, and relationships with prospective clients.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a creative environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver results through people who may not report to you.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
