About the Role

The Graduate Recruitment Assistant will support the recruitment team in sourcing, attracting, and selecting top graduate talent for the organisation. This role involves assisting with administrative tasks, coordinating recruitment events, liaising with universities, and ensuring a seamless candidate experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process for graduate programs, internships, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Screen applications, schedule interviews, and conduct initial candidate assessments to ensure the highest quality candidates are selected.
  • Maintain and update candidate databases and recruitment tracking systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely decision-making.

University Engagement & Talent Sourcing

  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, career services, and student organisations to establish a strong network of potential candidates.
  • Assist in planning and attending career fairs, networking events, and campus presentations to promote employer branding and attract top graduates.
  • Promote employer branding initiatives to showcase the company's values, mission, and culture to attract top talent.
  • Assist in graduate induction, job shadowing, and vacation work programs throughout the year to provide hands-on experience and skill development.

Administration & Coordination

  • Manage candidate correspondence, including interview confirmations and feedback to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with onboarding processes, including preparing induction materials and providing necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment equity and labour laws in South Africa to uphold the company's commitment to fairness and equality.

Marketing & Social Media Support

  • Help manage job postings on career portals, social media, and company websites to increase visibility and reach a wider audience.
  • Assist in developing recruitment marketing materials, such as brochures and videos, to effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
  • Monitor and respond to queries from potential candidates to provide timely and accurate information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0-1 years experience in recruitment, HR, or administration (internship or part-time work).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and candidates.
  • Knowledge of South African labour laws and recruitment best practices to ensure compliance and excellence.
