Job Description:

The Nordex Group is seeking an Industrial Relations Manager to join our team in Jefferys Bay. This fixed-term contract position, lasting 18 months, will play a crucial role in maintaining positive labor relations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policies and Procedures Development: Create and implement policies and procedures related to employee relations, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution processes.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure Nordex adheres to LRA and BCEA requirements for wage, overtime, and workplace safety matters.
  • Collective Bargaining Negotiation: Negotiate collective bargaining agreements with labor unions and manage the relationship between Nordex and the union.
  • Employee Guidance and Support: Provide managers and supervisors with guidance on employee relations issues, including performance management, employee discipline, and termination.
  • Investigations and Recommendations: Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend suitable actions to resolve them.
  • Training Program Development: Develop and deliver training programs for employees and managers on topics such as diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and conflict resolution.
  • Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with People and Culture, Legal, and Finance departments to ensure employee relations policies align with overall organizational goals.
  • Legal Compliance Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with changes in labor laws and provide guidance on how to comply with these updates.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in industrial relations, preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Labor Laws Knowledge: Strong knowledge of LRA and BCEA regulations.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements with labor unions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with employees, labor unions, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English.
Estimate Salary: R1,200,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

This position does not require travel; you will be based in Jefferys Bay.
