Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform a wide range of handyman tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and general repairs to maintain the estate's facilities.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs throughout the estate and facilities, maintaining accurate records of all work performed and materials used.
  • Security and Access Control: Manage security and access control systems to ensure the estate's safety and security.
  • Tenant Liaison: Liaise with tenants and promptly attend to any issues that arise, providing excellent customer service and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Tool Management: Take accountability for tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and stored properly.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance needs and support other team members as required, ensuring the estate's facilities are always operational.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with contractors on-site for major repairs, communicate effectively with the general manager and other team members, and ensure all safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintained.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience as a handyman, tradesman, caretaker, or building manager.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience with a variety of hardware tools and electrical equipment, basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, matric or equivalent qualification, and competent in using the MS Office Suite.
  • Driver's License and Clearance: Valid Code B (Code EB preferred) driver's license with a clear driving record and a clear criminal record.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and remain calm in emergencies, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong technical background.
