Agricultural Finance Manager

As an Agricultural Finance Manager at Nedbank, you will be responsible for developing key stakeholder relationships, establishing new relationships, and representing the company at relevant agricultural forums. You will explore and conclude synergies and business opportunities with internal and external stakeholders, providing professional financial input and risk assessment through specialist agricultural reports and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction for business growth through external and internal stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives, quantify risk through industry papers, investigations, and viability studies, and liaise with local authorities.
  • Execute regionally driven tactical initiatives aligned to the National Agricultural growth strategy to grow the Business Unit's assets organically and from new client acquisitions.
  • Manage and input into Credit Risk pricing.
  • Accountable for improvement of cross-sell focus across respective Agricultural portfolios through dedicated collaboration efforts.
  • Effective utilization of current Agricultural tailored products and services.
  • Address and minimize fee leakage through key management actions together with Area Sales Managers.
  • Ensure regional focus and execution on driving BEE opportunities in respective regions.
  • Manage and initiate regional management actions to address risk quality of book as well as ensuring alignment to BU financial target.
  • Effective implementation of the Agricultural Strategy through conduct of external market analysis and internal situational assessment of the region.
  • Provide input into Provincial and Regional business plans to determine appropriate investment, disinvestment, and retention on a sub-sector and geographical basis.
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees.
Preferred Qualification
  • Must have completed a BSC Agricultural Economy and/or Hons B Agricultural Degree (Agricultural Economy) B Comm Agricultural Economics.
Minimum Experience Level
  • Must have 3-5 years Agricultural finance experience or work experience as an Agricultural Economist in Agricultural Financing and/or Agricultural Economic Advisory business.
