Learning and Development Professional

This exciting opportunity is available at Tharisa, a dynamic company seeking an experienced Learning and Development Administrator to join our team. As a key member of the Learning and Development function, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all employees receive the necessary training and development to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities- Training Administration: Ensure that all learners are properly uploaded onto the Learning Management System (LMS) and assigned to the correct training programs.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate training sessions, managing attendance and replacing non-attendance participants to optimize resource utilization.
- Resource Allocation: Provide support in allocating available facilitators and resources for training sessions, ensuring smooth delivery of all training processes.
- New Employee Onboarding: Capture all new employees onto the LMS based on the list received from the recruitment team, ensuring they are assigned and notified of required training.
- Access Control: Implement parades by blocking employees' unauthorized access to mining sites and equipment until completion of all outstanding training.
- Record Keeping: Capture and maintain all employee and training records related to Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) qualifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Verification and Reporting: Verify and capture all completed training sessions on the LMS, obtaining attendance registers from trainers/facilitators to maintain up-to-date records.
- Non-Attendance Monitoring: Monitor and report all training non-attendance to the Learning and Development Specialist, enabling appropriate actions to address gaps.
- Employee Support: Handle employee queries, concerns, and conflict resolution to improve employee satisfaction, positive workplace culture, and issue resolution.
- Booking and Venue Management: Book boardrooms and venues as requested by internal stakeholders to ensure availability during desired timeslots.
- Meeting Record Keeping: Record minutes during meetings, including union and management forums, to compile comprehensive and accurate meeting records.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and distribute reports and documentation related to training activities and outcomes, as per stakeholder directives.
- Resource Planning: Determine resource needs within own area of responsibility to achieve individual role outcomes.
- Asset Request and Utilization: Request required assets and resources for work duties, using them optimally within own area of responsibility.
- Stationery Management: Manage stationery requirements within the allocated function, monitoring consumption and engaging with supervisors to approve ordering of new stock.
- Communication and Collaboration: Engage with relevant departments on issues of specialization, communicating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work objectives.
- Training Scheduling: Distribute the training schedule to line managers and TM employees, creating awareness around upcoming trainings and ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Notification and Reminders: Notify stakeholders upon completion of bookings and communicate relevant details, sending reminders to managers and learners regarding upcoming training dates.
- Qualifications: Grade 12/National Certificate in Administration within the learning and development environment.
- Job-Specific Experience: Minimum 1-2 years administrative experience within the Learning and Development environment, preferably in the mining industry.
