Job Overview

The Operations Manager position is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations in Mozambique. This includes ensuring the company's success and growth in Africa, monitoring security conditions, and making appropriate recommendations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic Implementation: Develop and implement effective business strategies and procedures to drive company growth.
  • Goal Setting: Establish comprehensive performance and growth goals for the team and organization.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with customers through improved support processes and convert inquiries into orders.
  • Project Management: Oversee existing and future projects, ensuring successful execution and timely delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise staff across various departments, managing daily operations and delegation.
  • Budget Management: Manage operational budgets to promote profitability and sustainability.
  • Company Culture: Ensure company policies and procedures align with our culture and vision.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor daily operations and staff performance across all departments.
  • Performance Evaluation: Analyze and interpret performance data and metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit reports to the Managing Director on key issues.
  • Fundraising Support: Assist the RMD in fundraising ventures whenever needed.
  • Expansion Participation: Engage in expansion activities, including investments, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with partners and vendors.
  • Travel: Be prepared to travel locally and regionally within Africa.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in the SECURITY field, with at least 3 years in an operations manager role.
  2. Security background with experience in high-risk and control risk security is advantageous.
  3. Understanding of industry legal rules, guidelines, and best practices.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Knowledge of various business functions, including supply chain, finance, customer service, and human resources.
  6. Proficient in data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  7. Familiarity with MS Office applications.
  8. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  9. Collaborative team player with good time-management skills.
  10. Proficient in English and able to speak and understand Portuguese language is required.
  11. Based in South Africa and willing to relocate to Mozambique.
