Payroll Administrator

The successful candidate will be employed in Johannesburg and will report to the Remuneration Manager.
Requirements:- National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Payroll and HR
- 3-5 years of payroll experience
- Sound knowledge of South African payroll legislations (e.g. SARS, BCEA, SDL, COIDA and Others)
- Proficiency in Buildsmart and Sage payroll systems
- Proficiency in Ms Excel
End-to-end payroll administration, processing, and reporting, including:
- Processing payroll transactions accurately and timely
- Maintaining the payroll system to ensure employee records are accurate and up-to-date
- Calculating and processing employee leave entitlements in line with relevant sectoral agreements
- Reviewing data to control quality and address queries on irregularities before payments are made
- Uploading payment files to the bank and producing output reports
- Reconciling payroll deductions, earnings, and benefits and preparing remittance, recons, and third payments
- Maintaining manual and electronic employee files and other HR/Payroll records
- Updating payroll parameters for changes associated with legislation amendments (e.g. SARS, BCEA, SDL, UIF, COIDA) and internal policies
- Preparing and processing applicable termination payments after obtaining a tax directive where applicable
- Assisting with admin tasks related to, but not limited to Employment Equity, Skills Development, BBBEE, Climate Surveys, and Occupational Health & Safety
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African payroll legislations and experience with Buildsmart and Sage payroll systems.
They will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
