Job Title: Spray Painter

We are seeking a skilled Spray Painter to join our team at General Heavy Marine (Pty)Ltd in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in paint mixing and spraying techniques, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Mix and apply paint using a spray gun, adhering to all specifications and quality control standards.
  • Disassemble and reassemble damaged machine parts, repairing scratches, dents, and other damage to bodywork.
  • Perform final finishing and polishing, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects and deviations from standards.
  • Utilize solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning sprayers and power equipment.
  • Follow company requirements for paint selection and color matching.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of spray-painting experience, preferably in a business-services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of paint mixing and spraying techniques.
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with quality control.
