**Position Purpose / Objective**

The Spray Painter will be responsible for spraying Astec machines using a spray gun.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Receiving the route pack and scanning the job in prior to commencement.
- All route packs to be signed off after completion.
- Evaluating the specifications contained in the route pack to determine if a special or standard paint is required.
- Using the overhead crane to hoist loads on the paint trolley.
- Using the paint trolley to load and unload items that are in need of painting.
- Pushing the paint trolley into the spray booth.
- Ensuring the component is clean and free from oil and grease before performing any painting tasks.
- Determining the type and thickness of the paint.
- Evaluating paint stock levels and advising the Production Manager in the event that stock needs to be ordered.
- Performing spray painting on the component as per the required specification.
- Completing the paint spec upon completion of the job the quality needs to do inspection.
- Ensuring that the spray system is properly cleaned when switching between paint colors.
- Adhering to housekeeping and safety standards.
- Participate in Lean, 5S and Safety culture.
- You will be required to perform any additional and lawful duties that might not be listed in the job description, but which fall within your grade or grades below as and when required.
- Ensuring compliance to QMS standards.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A secondary education of at least Grade 10 or equivalent.
- A valid overhead crane license would be advantageous.
- At least two to three years’ experience as a semi-skilled spray painter.
- Reliable individual with sober habits.
- Must be familiar with the various types of paint and the appropriate mixes.
