Job Title: Spray Painter

Job Summary:
General Heavy Marine (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Spray Painter to join our team in Johannesburg. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing coatings, and applying paints using a spray gun to achieve a smooth finish.

Responsibilities:
•Inspect and assess damage to machine bodywork and frames
•Disassemble and reassemble damaged parts and accessories
•Repair scratches, dents, and other damage to bodywork and replace parts as needed
•Straighten and align frames and unibodies
•Replace or repair windows, car interiors, and exterior trim
•Fill and sand bodywork
•Perform painting in a booth oven
•Finish and polish surfaces
•Prepare parts and assemblies for painting
•Mix paint and other materials according to specification or formula
•Ensure facility and equipment are in good working condition
•Utilize spray gun and apply paint in conformance with all specifications
•Employ heat or oven paint drying techniques for special finishes
•Scrutinize and measure parts to maintain statistical process control charts
•Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation
•Utilize solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning sprayers and power equipment
•Select paint and match colours following specified colour charts
•Responsible for material and minor maintenance

Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•At least 1-2 years of spray-painting experience, preferably in a business-services environment
•In-depth knowledge of paint mixing and spraying techniques
•Ability to follow health and safety regulations
•Familiarity with quality control
•Ability to stand for long hours
•Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with various departments
•Attentive to detail and organizational skills
•Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
