Overview


Career Custodians is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join their team at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay. This exciting opportunity involves managing kitchen operations, supporting the Head Chef, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of culinary excellence and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus, manage inventory, and optimize kitchen workflows.
  • Lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the hotel's culinary brand, showcasing creativity and expertise in menu design and preparation.

Requirements



  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in English language, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar position in a 4/5-star hotel, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and management.
  • Familiarity with all duties and procedures in the kitchen, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
