Sales Engineer – Security Solutions

Location: Pinetown

Compensation: R20 000 plus commission

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales, revenue, and profitability objectives within the designated client portfolio or territory as outlined by the company.
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Provide consistent updates and reports as required by relevant ISO standards and the assigned Sales Manager regarding activities within the specified territory.
  • Engage in the presentation of tailored solutions to clients and negotiate Service Level Agreements that align with company policies to fulfill client needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives within the designated area to meet company objectives, targets, and budgetary constraints.
  • Analyze market trends to assess customer requirements and propose pricing structures and discount strategies.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations to clients, showcasing products through demonstrations or catalogs while highlighting key features.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing assistance with quotes, technical support, marketing materials, and training.
  • Monitor and assess competitive activities and product offerings.
  • Ensure the CRM system is updated with all client contact information and activity logs, including details of key contacts and their decision-making authority.
  • Utilize sales tools provided by the company effectively, which may include marketing, product, or business resources.
  • Forecast current and future business potential within the client base, including product categories by vendor, in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
  • Schedule client meetings in accordance with company and client needs to ensure ongoing engagement and knowledge transfer until the sale is finalized.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to engage with both existing and prospective clients to generate orders or discuss products.
  • Deliver effective training sessions within the designated client base.
  • Assist in preparing client quotations in compliance with company ISO procedures and relevant Service Level Agreements.
  • Participate in trade shows and product launches as directed by the company.
  • Support inventory management during stock takes.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Three to five years of experience in the security sector
  • Valid driver's license
  • Fully insured, roadworthy, and licensed vehicle for business use
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Sales-related qualifications and/or training are advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Alarms/Access Control, Fire, and CCTV Technical Sales
  • Demonstrated history of successful sales performance
