Academic Clinical Department Head Joint Appointment Imaging Diagnostics and Therapeutics Radiology

Nelson Mandela University is seeking a dynamic and experienced healthcare professional to lead the Department of Imaging Diagnostics and Therapeutics Radiology as a Joint Appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic, clinical, and administrative leadership of the Department, ensuring optimal level of skills and competencies of all staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategies for the Department, ensuring alignment with the University's mission and vision.
- Provide academic, clinical, and administrative leadership, including curriculum and program development, research supervision, and community engagement.
- Manage human resources, financial, physical, and other resources in the Department, ensuring optimal utilization and allocation.
- Enhance the Mission and Vision of the Faculty and University, ensuring transformation initiatives are met.
- Contribute to strengthening the clinical health services platform, focusing on regional and national health challenges.
- MBChB degree and registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist or a recognized Medical Sub-specialty in the relevant discipline.
- PhD in the relevant discipline or related health discipline (advantageous).
- A minimum of 5 years' clinical work experience as a Medical Specialist after registration or meeting registerable requirements in that category with the HPCSA or holding a recognized Sub-specialty in the relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 years' work experience in teaching and learning at university level, with evidence of teaching and academic contributions in undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes.
- A minimum of 2 years managing a clinical unit or a clinical department in the relevant clinical discipline.
- Proven track record of research output, research supervision, and publications.
- Valid driver's license.
