Nelson Mandela University is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the position of Academic Clinical Head Joint Appointment Health Sciences Perioperative Care Anaesthetics. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic African university and contribute to the development of innovative health sciences education.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategies for the Department of Health Sciences.
- Provide academic, clinical, and administrative leadership to the Department.
- Lead research initiatives, including research supervision and community engagement.
- Teach and train students and junior colleagues at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Manage human resources and ensure optimal skills and competencies of staff.
- Manage financial, physical, and other resources in the Department.
- Enhance the Mission and Vision of the Faculty and University.
- MBChB degree.
- Registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner.
- A minimum of 5 years' clinical work experience as a Medical Specialist.
- A minimum of 2 years' work experience in teaching and learning at university level.
- A minimum of 2 years managing a clinical unit or a clinical department.
- Proven track record of research output, research supervision, and publications.
