Wealth Management Associate Role

Salary Range: R25k - R30k

Location: Cape Town

An exceptional opportunity awaits for a Wealth Management Associate within a distinguished financial services firm. This position involves reporting directly to the Wealth Manager and delivering crucial administrative assistance while acting as a strategic collaborator. Your key responsibilities will encompass managing timelines, documentation, and operational intricacies to enhance the overall service experience for both the Wealth Manager and their clientele.

Core Responsibilities

Administrative Assistance to Wealth Manager

  • Prepare and organize onboarding documentation for new clients.
  • Supervise the management and updating of client profiles in the CRM system.
  • Coordinate with both external and internal stakeholders regarding client-specific inquiries and the execution of instructions.
  • Address and resolve administrative-related inquiries or issues directly with clients on behalf of the Wealth Manager.
  • Oversee the preparation of client review materials, collaborating with the administrative team and Paraplanners as necessary.

Regulatory Compliance (FICA and FAIS)

  • Utilize fundamental knowledge of the FAIS General Code of Conduct in daily operations.
  • Accurately draft and/or verify Record of Advice and Replacement disclosure documents in accordance with internal compliance standards.
  • Ensure Customer Due Diligence (CDD) is conducted for all clients based on their risk profiles, following FICA and internal guidelines.

Technical Support Responsibilities

  • Maintain a basic understanding of product offerings by staying informed about the services provided by partners.
  • Prepare proposal documents in alignment with the Wealth Manager's directives and recommendations.
  • Conduct financial needs assessments and retirement planning analyses based on the Wealth Manager's guidance.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A degree in Commerce or Finance from a recognized institution is preferred.
  • CFP designation and RE5 certification are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and familiarity with XPlan is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial planning sector, supporting Wealth Managers and Financial Advisors with administrative functions, particularly in high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the financial planning landscape, including FAIS (CAT II is advantageous) and FICA regulations.
