Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team at ABC Worldwide. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical assistance and support to our sales staff, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide active technical and application support to sales staff in the preparation of sales offers, focusing on technical and other aspects.
  • Offer technical selling, consultation, and support to customers regarding our Solar PV products and systems in both commercial and residential markets.
  • Offer technical on-site and telephonic support to customers and internal teams.
  • Repair and assess products in our Service Centre, as well as manage product return processes.
  • Prepare quotations, client follow-ups, product and stock consulting, and order confirmations to clients.
  • Support the Department Manager in implementing new products and services.
  • Gain internal knowledge about new products or updates and changes, and process and present this information in the company's knowledge base and train colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Department Manager to set up and maintain technical presentations, product battle cards, warranty guidelines, etc.
  • Commence regular technical product and system trainings with clients for new products or system configurations.
  • Prepare Solar PV designs in the company's design software PV Manager and commence internal and external trainings.
  • Draw single-line diagrams.
  • Be the main contact for warranty and claim handling of products, especially for those where the company is responsible for the first-line service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the SOLAR field is an asset.
  • Product experience with Victron, SMA, Fronius, GoodWe, SolarMD, and BYD is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in the SOLAR industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent Afrikaans and English skills are required.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively multi-task daily and meet deadlines.
  • Assertive, confident, and clear communicator – via email, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Proficient with desktop applications such as Windows & Office. ERP System Knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience with PV Design Software such as PV Syst, PV Sol, etc., is an asset.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
