Job Description:

Santam, the leading short-term insurer in South Africa, is seeking a Senior Insurance Solutions Developer to join its team.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity requires a skilled professional with 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst to work in an agile environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with software and process modeling methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Consult with business stakeholders to identify business problems and opportunities;
  • Assist with conceptualization, proposal of solutions, and business case development;
  • Analyze and decompose relevant business processes and understand their impact on the business;
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and maintain business requirements and functional specifications;
  • Administer, plan, and organize work to ensure successful and on-time delivery;
  • Ensure that solutions deliver on business expectations;
  • Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing;
  • Investigate production incidents and change requests to identify solutions and work with the development team to implement them;
  • Provide support and collaborate with project management, change management, training, design, development, and testing competencies;
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, standards, and methodologies;
  • Stay current on industry practices and trends in the short-term insurance and digital environments and contribute innovative ideas for the use of technology and improvement of processes.
Requirements:
  • A degree related to business analysis and information systems (B. Com);
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or certificate/diploma in Business Analysis from an industry-recognized training institution (FTI Diploma would be beneficial);
  • 5 years and more experience as a Business Analyst;
  • Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum), managing product backlogs, and writing user stories;
  • Experience in the use of software and process modeling methodologies and tools;
  • Experience working with Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) is advantageous;
  • Experience in workshop facilitation and communication with stakeholders both internal and external and at different levels of the organization;
  • Experience in the use of project management techniques and methodology is advantageous;
  • Experience in the short-term insurance industry is advantageous;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet customer expectations;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability;
  • Strong customer service orientation and collaborative interpersonal style;
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business, process, and technology environments;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Effective relationship building skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external;
  • High confidence, self-driven individual who can remain calm and focused under pressure, ability to manage own workload and timelines;
  • Facilitation of workshops, decision-making, and actions to enable teams to agree next steps;
  • Ability to effectively deal with conflict situations;
  • Ability to be organized while working in a complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environment;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Ability to take ownership, lead, and initiate action and drive actions to completion.
Salary:

R900,000 - R1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
