Hotel Operations Manager

RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hotel Operations Manager for a hospitality concern based in the Drakensberg area, KwaZulu-Natal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the front office, including reception, reservations, shop, entertainment, and banqueting.
  • Assist and coordinate with the banqueting department to manage and coordinate special occasions such as Christmas, New Year, and Easter.
  • Manage housekeeping duties, front office administration, and IT for PMS, internet, and switchboard.
  • Coordinate guest and staff injuries, recording incidents as required, and hand over to the Health and Safety committee.
  • Assess stock requirements, receive proposals from reps, check and authorize orders, and correspond with suppliers.
  • Process payroll, including preparation of salaries, time sheets, leave reports, and closure of staff accounts.
  • Participate in online banking, capturing or approving invoices for due payment.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • 3-year Diploma from the International Hotel School or similar accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in English, Afrikaans, and Zulu.
  • Valid Code 08 drivers license.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office/Email) and excellent working knowledge of Opera (PMS).
  • 5+ years of previous working experience in a full-service Hotel in a remote location and in a leadership role.

Salary Package:

Salary + accommodation (single) + meals.
