Job Title: Senior Sales Development Manager - Off Trade

 

About Us

We are a reputable distributor of premium alcohol brands, seeking a skilled sales professional to join our team in Ermelo. As a Senior Sales Development Manager - Off Trade, you will be responsible for driving the effective implementation of our sales strategy in key regions.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in sales development within the off-trade channel, with a strong understanding of FMCG and food & beverage category management principles. You will be expected to maintain a deep knowledge of our product range, stay up-to-date with market trends, and identify opportunities to drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically drive availability targets tailored to each channel, ensuring flawless execution of brand presence across various platforms.
  • Prioritize key brands to optimize volume potential across channels, while implementing innovative strategies to boost sales volume.
  • Execute promotions that align with and enhance brand equity, tailoring them for maximum synergy with specific channels.
  • Rigorously implement the National Promotions Strategy, tracking and optimizing the return on investment (ROI) for promotions.
  • Elevate brand visibility through impactful imagery, displays, merchandising, and more.

Operational Excellence:

  • Systematically manage and update call cycles to maintain efficiency, ensuring 100% adherence to the prescribed call cycle.
  • Accurately code all outlets for seamless operations, meeting all requirements during representative visits.
  • Complete administrative tasks and reports promptly, maintaining company vehicles and managing vehicle mileage within budget.

Consumer Engagement:

  • Engage responsibly with consumers at every touchpoint, collecting and managing consumer data in alignment with target demographics.
  • Effectively communicate consumer insights and expectations, driving business decisions based on customer needs.

Financial and Asset Management:

  • Adhere to quantity and discount cycle parameters to meet financial goals, ensuring prompt submission of PODs and credit notes.
  • Handle promotional stock with accountability and care, minimizing waste and maximizing returns.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 Year Tertiary Education (Beneficial)
  • 4-5 Years Relevant experience - NB experience within off trade channel FMCG / Food & Beverage in Geographical area mentioned
  • Product, service knowledge and understanding of category management
  • Knowledge of marketing and accounting principles
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to conceptualise and negotiate
  • Customer orientation
  • Sound interpersonal skills and creativity (big picture thinking)
  • Team player and ability to work independently using initiative
  • Endurance and ability to tolerate extended hours (work evenings and over weekends
