Material Planner

Vocation Staffing Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team. As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and manage raw material and finished goods requirements based on forecasted demand.
- Place orders for raw materials and finished goods to meet planned and safety stock requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier data and conduct regular evaluations to ensure compliance with quality management systems.
- Expedite or delay purchase orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery or optimize inventory levels.
- Liaise with outsourced warehouses to ensure seamless receipt and stock management processes.
- Collaborate with sales teams to manage customer requirements and mitigate shortages or anomalies.
- Manage the creation of new products on our system and track inventory levels of all purchased products.
- Ensure the appropriate disposition of redundant or rejected stock by liaising with the SOX controller.
- Manage the phase-in and phase-out of products to reduce obsolescence and prepare obsolescence information for sales negotiation.
- Verify incoming invoices against transfer pricing and maintain master data of products in SAP and OMP+.
- Update and review priority and open order reports, as well as update KPIs for the Purchasing Department on a monthly basis.
- Compile forecasts for suppliers and submit for action, ensuring inventory health is maintained.
- Procure goods in accordance with BBBEE levels and track BBBEE certificates and ISO certificates for expiry and validity.
- Liaise with Global Purchasing for price movements and approval, alternatives, and cost avoidance.
- Negotiate price reductions and ensure supporting information for price increases is filed.
- Maintain a price tracker and trend analysis of pricing, highlighting risks to relevant parties and preparing information for air freight approval.
- Ensure packaging meets customer specifications and raise indirect orders on SAP, sending them to suppliers.
- Liaise with requisitioners to ensure smooth receipt processes for indirect orders and ensure all relevant documentation is received from new suppliers.
- Perform various administrative tasks as required and perform any reasonable tasks given by senior management within your capability.
- Maintain safety stock or safety time for raw materials and finished goods and run open order reports weekly, expediting late orders and closing previous month consumption orders.
- ND or Degree in Purchasing or Logistics Management, CPIM, or similar.
- Intermediate level of computer literacy with high usage of Excel.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an operations and/or planning environment, with understanding of forecast and MRP processes.
- Experience in an automotive planning environment is an advantage.
- Capacity to utilize company information systems, with SAP experience being an advantage.
