Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Data Analyst Intern. The successful candidate will assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date data from various sources
  • Analyze data using statistical tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop and maintain databases to store and retrieve data efficiently
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth through data-driven insights
Requirements
  • BSc/BCom Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Business Analytics
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data analysis (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
  • Proficiency in at least one data visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Excel)
  • Based in Cape Town or willing to relocate
  • Medical fitness certificate required
  • Clear criminal record essential
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of relational databases and query writing in SQL
  • Problem-solving: Ability to analyze and interpret data to solve problems
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings effectively
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to data consistency
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is R250,000 - R300,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, Afrimat offers a range of benefits, including medical aid, life insurance, and a pension fund contribution.
