About the Role

The Head of Payroll Operations will be responsible for overseeing the payroll department, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of payroll, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the payroll department in managing the entire payroll process, including implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a robust payroll administration system to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of payroll-related documents, such as PAYE returns and IRP5 documents.
  • Ensure adherence to legislative requirements, including UIF and WCA submissions.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banking institutions and provident fund administrators.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement payroll-related policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
  • Provide training and support to payroll officers to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulatory requirements affecting payroll operations.
