About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Manager to join our team at Affirmative Portfolios. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all technical and related services at our hospitals, including risks related to infrastructure and assets, and all plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities Management: Oversee the management of all hospital facilities, clinical infrastructure, and assets to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  2. Staff Management: Lead and manage all staff in the Technical Department, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their responsibilities.
  3. Resource Planning: Ensure proper planning of resources in accordance with ISO 55000 principles to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  4. Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for nursing, pharmacy, admin, and management staff on technical-related issues to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  5. Purchasing and Expenditure: Manage technical-related purchasing and expenditure to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  6. Contractor Management: Manage contractors' performance to ensure they meet the required standards and expectations.
  7. Policy Implementation: Implement Group policy and procedures to manage and maintain hospital facilities and assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Risk Management: Enforce Group policies and procedures to staff members and contractors to mitigate all risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Compliance and Assurance: Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related legislation, and provide quality and safety assurance during and after completion of contracts.
  10. Project Management: Responsible for project management and engineering services of all small building projects at site, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  11. Financial Management: Responsible for the financial performance and budget of the Technical Department, ensuring effective management of resources.
  12. Asset Management: Custodian of the asset management database on the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), ensuring reliability and validity of all data.
  13. Maintenance Management: Manage the maintenance management system, ensuring that all equipment risks are managed and that all repairs and maintenance are conducted as required.
  14. Communication: Interact in a professional manner with colleagues, staff, and clients, providing excellent customer service and support.
  15. Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and ad-hoc reports on staff, contractors, facilities, and assets of the hospital, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  16. Meetings and Interactions: Attend Hospital, Regional, and National meetings as well as interdepartmental interaction with a focus on nursing, health and safety, and infection control.
  17. Professional Conduct: Ensure professional technical conduct at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  18. Training and Succession Planning: In consultation with HR Manager, develop training and succession plans to ensure that staff are trained to the statutory competency requirements for their specific roles.
