About the Role

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Officer to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing professional advice and guidance to management, employees, and trade unions on human resources matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Reporting and Analysis: Support the HR Manager in compiling relevant HR reports, analyzing trends, and providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Industrial Relations: Provide a supporting role in conciliation matters, represent the company at the Bargaining Council, and prepare bundles for arbitration cases.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster good relations between management, employees, and trade unions, ensuring labor peace in the workplace.
  • HR Policy Implementation: Consistently and fairly implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor legislation and company policies.
  • Employee Benefits Administration: Manage and administer employee benefits, including medical aid, retirement funds, and other benefits.
  • Stakeholder Management: Schedule, take minutes, and report on stakeholder meetings between the company and trade unions.
  • Shop-Floor Issues: Stay on top of shop-floor issues, understanding operations and IR/HR matters to provide support when required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Matric/Grade 12, National Diploma in Human Resources (NQF Level 6), and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: Proven track record in a similar role, with experience in a manufacturing industry and trade union environment.
  • Skills: High-level computer literacy, negotiation and conflict handling skills, and ability to manage multiple projects on time.
