Job Title: Head of Operations

Rory Mackie & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operations to oversee the company's daily operations. This is a key role that requires a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily business operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes, develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency, monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement, and coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment and seamless workflow.
  • Procurement Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory (local and imports), negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions, establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, and monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations and procurement professionals, set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews, foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement, and provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in operations and procurement management, preferably in a medium-sized business environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement processes, and inventory control.
  • Strong experience with stock management and control.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced) and ERP software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Qualification and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. CIMA an advantage.
  • At least 5 years' experience in operations management.
Reports to:
  • CFO.
Salary Range:
  • Market-related, depending on experience.
Location:
  • Full time and in-office.
Team:
  • 3 direct reports and outsourced logistics partner (warehousing and logistics).
