Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administration Expert to join our team at Bidvest Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, configuring, supporting, securing, and maintaining the availability, integrity, and performance of our databases environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Environment Management: Manage all database changes in all environments, ensuring that the database environments are adequately backed up and replicated to ensure limited impact in the event of failures and to meet disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
  • Technical Competencies: Possess expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server in Azure, and ITIL (Change Management, Service Delivery, Service Level Agreements).
  • Education and Experience: Hold a National Diploma in Information Technology or BSC Degree in Information Technology, with a minimum of 2 years in Database Administration and at least 1-2 years' experience in a Senior Database administration position in a large environment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project teams and deliver robust deployments aiming to move to High Availability, while improving processes and solving problems through enhancements to current processes or creating new solutions.
  • Leadership and Talent Development: Take ownership of driving own career development, share knowledge with colleagues, and engage in leadership activities to enhance effectiveness.

About the Role:

What We Offer:
