Camps Bay Retreat, our luxury boutique hotel seeks an Executive Housekeeper to lead their team.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Matric
- Tertiary Hospitality / Accommodation certificate
- Minimum 2 years in the same or similar position
- OPERA experience (advantageous)

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Management**
- Manage the Housekeeping department efficiently according to company policies
- Manage housekeepers and supervisors
- Liaise with other departments to ensure services are provided in a timely manner
- Investigate complaints about services and equipment, taking corrective action
- Resolve guest problems and complaints
- Inspect and evaluate physical conditions of facilities to determine of work to be done
- Monitor staff efficiency and day to day admin and operational functions
- Daily housekeeping allocations

**Operations**
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of rooms and public areas
- Ensure guest satisfaction is maintained in areas under Housekeeping's control
- Ensure suitable supplies of cleaning materials available
- Select suitable cleaning materials for different types of linen, furniture, flooring, leather
- Lost and found
- Ensure all operational equipment in working order
- Regular spot checks

**Administration**
- Maintain of departmental records and reports
- Leave planning
- Ensure housekeeping operational, transactional and permanent files are kept up to date
- Correct office procedure are adhered to by all Rooms Division departments

**Training and Development**
- Ensure induction manual is up to date
- Develop housekeeping modules
- On the job training

**Recruitment**
- Liaise with the dedicated consultants to ensure suitably qualified staff are recruited
- Ensure all recruitment is approved on the man plan

**Financial**
- Prepare and submit annual budgetary information and updates as required by the financial manager
- Follow procedure with regards to purchasing
- Operate within the constraints of the budget
- Ensure operating assets are in working order and accounted for
- Ensure asset list is updated montlyh
- Project management captured and submitted to Finance for charge out purposes

**Human Resources**
- Monthly departmental meetings
- Ensure dress code is up to standard
- Staff files
- Performance appraisals, identify gaps in training
- Chair disciplinary enquiries
- Ensure that fair and equitable discipline is applied.
