Applications are invited for the following teaching position starting 1 May 2023

**HEAD OF MATHEMATICS**:
MATHEMATICS (Grade 8-12), MATHEMATICAL LITERACY (Grade 10 - 12) and FURTHER STUDIES MATHEMATICS (Grade 10-12)
- is an experienced Grade 12 Mathematics educator with IEB experience
- has an appropriate academic and professional qualification and registered with SACE
- is known to embrace alternate, creative and innovative pedagogies for effective teaching of Mathematics, such as project-based learning
- an educator that is thoroughly well-versed in the challenges faced in a Mathematics classroom, an unequivocal collaborator;
- is compassionate, composed and constantly curious about enhancing learning;

**Strategic Overview**
- Provide input at our Academic Planning Committee (APC) meetings to align teaching and learning to the College’s vision.
- Ensure the overall design of the curriculum is appropriate and follows IEB and curriculum guidelines in the content, skills, values, and attitudes taught and the assessment thereof.
- Keep abreast of developments in Mathematics Education and facilitate attendance at IEB user group meetings/conferences.

**Curriculum Design**
- Hold regular department meetings and ensure minutes are taken.
- Oversee term plan design and submit for discussion to Deputy Principal.
- Oversee pre and post-moderation for all assessments.

**Professional Development and Mentorship**
- Mentor all staff in the team, with particular emphasis on new staff.
- Visit classrooms regularly, share good practise and provide constructive feedback to your teachers.
- Develop and set goals for the department and individual teachers.

**Departmental Administration**
- Advise the Principal on staff loads and teaching.
- Determine the departmental budget, monitor the spending, and look after resources.
- Compile and upload the stationery and textbook list and ensure all the information is correct.
- Oversee the set-up of mark books, weightings, and deadlines for uploading marks and comments.
- Review teachers’ report comments.
